Set in the mid-22nd century, humans mine a precious mineral called unobtanium on Pandora, a lush habitable moon in the Alpha Centauri star system.

It tells the story of a paraplegic marine, dispatched to Pandora on a unique mission, who eventually becomes torn between obeying his orders and protecting the world he feels is his home.

Distributed by Warner Brothers, it stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, Joel David Moore, Giovanni Ribisi and Sigourney Weaver.

Both a commercial and critical success, it is the first movie to break the 2 billion box office record worldwide, and was nominated for 9 Academy Awards, winning in the categories of Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Visual Effects.
